NEXOS.LinDrive is NEXOS.Group's proprietary linear axis platform — from single drive to fully integrated portal system. At its core is a self-developed aluminium extrusion profile that requires no post-processing after production — fast and cost-effective manufacturing of high-precision linear axes from standard modules.
Four drive variants
One common profile system, four drive types covering the full requirement spectrum:
LinDrive-B · Toothed belt
High travel speeds, long strokes, moderate accuracy. For handling systems, portal robots and assembly machines.
LinDrive-S · Ballscrew
Highest positioning and repeat accuracy, high thrust forces. For test rigs, CNC axes, dispensing and pressing applications.
LinDrive-R · Rack & pinion
Very long strokes (several metres) without loss of stiffness. For large gantries, XXL handling applications, welding and bonding portals.
LinDrive-L · Linear motor
Highest dynamics and repeat accuracy without mechanical transmission. For pick-and-place with very short cycle times and precision positioning tasks.
Frame sizes
All drive variants are available in three frame sizes — matched to payload, stroke and installation space:
- NEXOS.LinX120 — compact axis for confined installation spaces; for light to medium loads, based on NEXOS.Protec120
- NEXOS.LinX230 — the standard size based on NEXOS.Protec230. Sufficient for most handling and portal applications
- NEXOS.LinX600 — large format for heavy payloads and XXL strokes. Based on machined aluminium plates (not extrusion profiles) — higher stiffness, custom cross-sections, project-specific adaptation
The aluminium profile is supplied in 6-metre lengths and can be cut to any length or extended with butt connectors — practically unlimited stroke lengths.
System architecture
- Self-developed aluminium extrusion profile based on NEXOS.Protec230 — stability, stiffness and low weight in a combination that enables fast and precise motion.
- Profile-rail guidance in precision class P — backlash-free, long-life linear guide with lifetime grease lubrication.
- Optional linear measuring system — for highest precision and compensation of external influences (temperature, vibration).
- Multiple carriages on one axis — for double-gripper applications or chained processing stations without an additional axis.
- Flexible mounting — T-slots for accessories, standardized adapter plates for robots (UR, Kassow, RobCo, FANUC, Doosan) and for NEXOS.Nova.
- Internal or external cable carrier — depending on application; holders for sensors and laser scanners are standard.
Control and safety
- PLC control with classical, easy-to-program environment — standard integration into existing automation landscapes.
- Drive technology — consistent Mitsubishi systems as standard; all common EU manufacturers (Siemens, Beckhoff, Bosch Rexroth) on request.
- CE conformity per Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, EN ISO 12100.
- Optional safety functions — Safe Torque Off (STO), Safe Speed Limit (SLS), Safe Direction (SDI) for collaborative operation.
- Predictive Maintenance — key metrics (cycles, operating hours, temperature, drive current) directly connectable to NEXOS.DSP.
Typical applications
- Welding — as traversing axis in portal systems or as 7th axis on cobot/robot for long weld seams.
- Machine tending — chaining multiple processing centres, workpiece feeding.
- Bonding and dispensing — high-precision path control along long bond lines.
- Palletizing — as portal system for large-format palletizing tasks.
- Pick & place — as portal axis (X/Y/Z) for fast, dynamic handling tasks.
- Inspection and metrology — as CNC axis for measuring machines, test rigs, tool measurement.
Ecosystem integration
- As 7th axis on cobot / industrial robot — extends reach without complex kinematic programming. Combines with NEXOS.Nova, UR, Kassow, FANUC, Doosan.
- As basis for NEXOS.Motion — multi-axis gantry and portal systems built from LinDrive axes and Protec frames.
- Inside the NEXOS.Cube cell — as integrated process axis for lift, feeding or workpiece guidance.

For Slovakia and Czech Republic, sales run through our certified partner CUBIQ s.r.o. in Bratislava. For all other markets directly via NEXOS.Group.
Certifications for robot ecosystems (UR+, RobCo, FANUC, Doosan) as well as TÜV/DGUV inspections are part of ongoing product development and will be added step by step.
